History of Lewanda Marine Inc.

Neal Lewanda started out in the marine field in 1985 at Lindsay Boatbuilders in Gloucester Mass, building  custom "one-off"*  racing yachts.  After six months, Neal was shop foreman, in charge of  13 co-workers.  Neal learned to shape and glass various racing-class keels and rudders, to exacting standards. High tech materials and techniques, such as carbon fiber, kevlar, and "vacuum-bagging" was starting to revolutionize the marine field. Neal was at the cutting - edge of technology in the late 1980's!  He also learned how boats are put together, and how to work with the high-tech coatings on most of todays yachts.

After 5 years, Neal worked at Browns Yacht Yard in Gloucester Mass, bringing new technology to a high-end boat yard.  Here he sprayed "Awlgrip" marine coatings, built new keels for damaged or re-fit yachts, and honed his skills in the marine trade.  Six years later  Neal worked at Manchester Marine, in Manchester-by-the-sea, Massachusetts as lead
custom spray painter and fiberglass technician, where his reputation grew as one of the finest spray painters on the

North Shore of Boston. He attended Northeast Institute of Technology for the latest in fiberglass materials and techniques in 2001.

After 9 years at Manchester Marine, Neal opened up his own shop in  the Magnolia section of Gloucester Ma. A modern, new facility with the tools and knowledge to repair or paint your yacht. With 22 years of experience, and long list of satisfied customers, let Lewanda Marine Inc. treat you as the valuable customer that you are!
